New website preview on phone, tablet, desktop, and laptop

Greene County Public Library is getting a new website and catalog! Before the change this August, we invite you to take your new online library for a test drive.

We think you’ll find a lot to like. Here are five of our favorite features in the new catalog:

1. Grouped Search

Tired of scrolling through a long list to hunt down the audiobook or large print version? Now you’ll find all of a title’s available formats in one place with the grouped search view.

2. Format Chooser

Each item’s page also shows other formats and editions the library owns.

All of the DVDs are checked out? No problem—there’s a downloadable version available with no wait. Just click to switch.

3. Smart Search

Try typing new movies, kids DVDs, new teen books, or Italian music into the search box to experience how our new catalog is smarter than ever before. The results you’ll get back are automatically filtered based on format, how recently we added the item to our collection, audience age, and language.

4. Browse Pages

Select an option from the browse menu to see the books, audiobooks, ebooks, movies, and music that are new and popular at the library. You can also browse pages just for kids and teens, see what’s coming soon, and more. Best of all, these pages are automatically updated as new items are added to the catalog.

5. Username Login

The first time you access your account in the new catalog, you’ll choose a username. From then on, you can log in to the catalog with the username you picked instead of trying to remember your randomly assigned library card number.

Though if you’ve already got your library card number memorized (way to go!), you’ll still be able to log in that way if you prefer.

But that’s just a start. You’ll also discover an events calendar that’s easy to access from every page, a catalog that plays as nicely with your mobile devices as the rest of the library’s website, and more. Go see for yourself!
