Greene County Public Libraries to Be Closed on Sunday, September 1

Greene County: All Greene County Public Library locations will be closed on Sunday, September 1, 2019, due to the federal holiday weekend.

Normally five of the seven community libraries (Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Fairborn, Xenia, and Yellow Springs) are open on Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m. from September through May. All library locations are closed on Sundays during the summer. Since Labor Day falls on September 2, the Library Board of Trustees voted to keep the library closed on September 1.

“It’s a quirk of the calendar,” explains Board Trustee Jeff Brock. “Rather than having the employees return for one short shift in a long weekend, we decided to make the summer last a little longer.”
