Yellow Springs Community Library is hosting an ongoing Community Quilting Bee. The group meets monthly to collect cotton fabric, organize kits, and sew quilts to donate to charities in Yellow Springs or Greene County. Meetings are usually held on the last Monday of the month from 5:30 – 8 p.m. The library’s sewing machines are available for use during that time.
This is not intended as a time to learn to sew, but people who do not sew are welcome to participate in the collecting and organizing of fabric.
Donations of cotton fabric from nonsmoking households will be accepted at the library on the second Wednesday of each month between noon and 5 p.m.
Whether you’d like to downsize your fabric collection, exercise your creativity, meet fellow quilters, or just make a difference for a quilt recipient, the Community Quilting Bee might be for you! Please see the library’s event calendar for the next meeting time.
