Do you remember getting together with friends and family for rousing sessions of Monopoly, Scrabble, or Risk? Well, those pastimes are back. In fact, interest in tabletop games is expected to keep rising toward a worldwide market value of 12 billion U.S. dollars by 2023, and game manufacturers keep coming up with fresh, new offerings.
In Fairborn, we will not be left behind!
We keep a wide selection of board games for patrons to use inside Fairborn Community Library—from DiXit, to Scrabble, to Codenames, to Wits & Wagers, and more. But recently, we have also kicked off a drop-in Board Game Café on the fourth Monday of the month, from 4 – 5:30 p.m., in the lower level meeting room. We get out all of our games, while some players bring their own to share. And what’s café without food? So we bring the treats, too.
Board Game Café is suitable for all ages, and we think playing these games together makes people smarter and happier. So bring your own chess board, or borrow ours, and play. It’s your turn!
