It’s January, so it must be time to make those resolutions that become guidelines in March and are distant memories by May. Coincidentally, in addition to January being a great time for resolutions, it is also National Blood Donor Month. Giving blood helps accident victims, cancer patients, organ recipients, and so many others.
If you have questions about the process or your eligibility, go to the blood donation websites for the American Red Cross and Community Blood Center. Both organizations’ sites have a zip code search to help you find a location close to you for donating.
For Cedarville residents in January, the closest place that Community Blood Center has a blood drive scheduled as of this writing is on January 6 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Xenia. Check back at both websites to see dates for additional local drives as they’re scheduled.
And if you need motivation for this resolution or any others you make, resolve to stop by your library and check out Changeology: 5 Steps to Realizing Your Goals and Resolutions, or Change Anything: The New Science of Personal Success. Happy 2020 from the staff at Cedarville Community Library!
