Online Summer Reading Club

Our Online Summer Reading Club is the perfect opportunity for parents and caregivers to teach beginning literacy skills through hands-on activities and storytelling. Young readers are learning the basics of reading, so we have a special program just for them. As you and your preschooler complete activities on the game board, opens a new window, you’ll earn your way toward a prize!

Every week, we’ll be doing online Get Up and Move, Morning, and Bedtime Story Times to get your child dancing, singing, and playing, as well as interactive scavenger hunts and chalk creations.

Prizes

• Complete 8 activities on the game board with your child to earn a collapsible bowl.
• Complete 16 activities with your child and receive an age-appropriate book.

Once you've earned a prize, simply call your community library to arrange a time to pick it up.

In early August, we'll draw for our grand prize winners. If you're a grand prize winner, we’ll notify you, and you can pick up your special prize at the library.

Our theme of Imagine Your Story is the perfect breather for kids at a time when so many families have been stuck at home. Kids will have fun exploring through reading and our virtual programs, including scavenger hunts both outside and inside the house.

• After 8 hours of reading or participating in online activities, you'll earn a 10‑color pen.
• After 16 hours, you'll get an age-appropriate book.

Once you've earned a prize, simply call your community library to arrange a time to pick it up.

To be a teen is to have an inexhaustible need to explore the world. This year's theme will help teens connect with the world of ideas, feelings, and growth during this socially-distant time.

Throughout the program, you can also join online library programs and participate in challenges, including a recipe challenge, chalk art, digital scavenger hunt, live book readings, trivia, and more.

• After 8 hours of reading or participating in online activities, you'll earn a USB wristband.
• After 16 hours, you'll receive a book of your choice.

At a time when it feels we are stuck between work and home, adults need to get away from it all and use imagination to relax, explore, and get a fresh perspective.

Throughout the summer, we’ll also offer online programs including monthly fiction book discussions, nonfiction discussions, writing groups, and craft classes.

• After reading 5 books, you’ll earn a stainless steel straw and an entry for the grand prize.

• After reading 10 books, you'll earn a metal mug and an entry for the grand prize.
• After reading more than 10 books, you'll receive an additional entry for the grand prize.
