Pick up a new book to read as a family this holiday or find an old favorite at the library.
Those of you who read my suggested holiday reads each year know that I love to read books with a winter holiday theme. Also, I have the honor of selecting the adult fiction and nonfiction for the library, and I have so much fun ordering holiday books for our wonderful patrons. It's just an added bonus that I discover books for my own reading list while I'm at it! I hope you enjoy all the wonder, beauty, peace, and love of the holiday season.
We all know the classic holiday movies, but have you discovered any new ones, even if they are only "classic" in your own home? If you are like me, you watch a LOT of holiday movies and TV to get in the holiday spirit. I know I run out of things to watch, especially something new to me. I thought I'd make some suggestions of titles that might be new to you and perfect for facilitating that cozy holiday feeling.
The most wonderful thing about music is its ability to transport us to other worlds, other times, and other moods. We definitely all have music that we associate with the winter holidays; just hearing a particular song or piece of music brings back memories of holidays past or dreams of holidays to come. We play holiday music at family gatherings, at festive concerts, and maybe even in the car while driving to pick out indoor or outdoor decorations. I hope this selection of music helps bring the holidays to life for you.
