Thank You, Greene County!

What an amazing night!

On behalf of the Greene County Public Library, I want to share my immense gratitude for your continued faith and generosity in advancing the Greene County Public Library Foundation’s work fostering early literacy in our community.

Year after year, you set the bar high with your commitment to our shared vision. After a record-breaking fundraising year in the midst of a global pandemic, you returned with us in-person to break even more records in 2021. On a picture perfect, big sky evening that you can only get here in Greene County, over 220 of you joined together to raise $15,921.41.

Let me say that again because it bears repeating; over 220 of you came out on a Tuesday night to raise $15,921.41 for our kids here in Greene County. That amount on its own is enough for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to directly mail 7,632 books to our families. We were able to share some of your stories of impact in the weeks leading up to this year’s event and it is inspiring to think of the new stories you created that night.

I also want to acknowledge our partners and sponsors. Both Anderson Williamson Insurance and the Rotary Club of Xenia joined us in raising funds at Raise a Glass to Reading, alongside longstanding Imagination Library program sponsors the United Way of Greater Dayton Area and Kettering Health. Hosted by Caesar Creek Vineyards and catered by Sweets Boutique, we love being able to work with such talented Greene County businesses. Lastly, we want to thank our media partner, WYSO Public Radio for helping us to get the word out.

Thank you, Greene County. Your commitment drives our mission.
