Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has made an incredible impact on the children and families in our community. By gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, this program gives so much more than a new book to read every month.
It’s reading the same story for the hundredth time just to see your kid smile at their favorite part. It’s watching your little one gain confidence as they hit early literacy milestones. It’s creating memories as a family you will cherish always. It’s seeing your child get on the bus for kindergarten knowing you helped prepare them to be a successful student.
At the heart of the Imagination Library is Dolly Parton’s belief in the power of books to open doors and bring people together. As Dolly has said, "Every book is a treasure and every time you open one up, you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places."
We want to hear from you!
In honor of Dolly’s legacy, join us in sharing your stories and memories of reading. Whether it’s a favorite childhood book, a special reading memory, what reading means to you, a funny bedtime-reading moment, or a sweet story about watching your child discover books, share it in the comments below.
Help continue the work.
