Thanks to all the families and supporters who came out to celebrate this year's graduates from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library at GCPL's second ever Imagination Graduation!
Pushing strollers, holding hands, and lining up to claim diplomas - nearly 300 of you were at Be Hope Church last Saturday for bouncy castles, crafts, cookies, costumed storytimes, and - most importantly - signing up for library cards and this year's Summer Reading Club. We wish all of our graduates success as they move on to Kindergarten and can't wait to continue to watch them learn and grow at the library!
And if you couldn't make it - don't worry! We will be emailing caretakers of graduates from last April through the end of May with instructions on how you can still receive your child's diploma and your bumpersticker this June from your youth services librarian.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five. The impact we’ve seen and heard about from participating families is inspiring. This program does so much for children’s readiness to enter kindergarten when they turn five. More than that, for their confidence and sense of worth. The Imagination Library creates family bonds and traditions that will last a lifetime.
