Greene County History Month

Thank you to our co-organizers at Greene County Historical Society, opens a new window and Greene County Records Center & Archives, opens a new window, the many other participating community organizations, and of course, thanks to all of you who came out and brought our local history alive this past April. Be sure to check back in the spring as we begin planning for another Greene County History Month.

Celebrate Our History Every April!

What an amazing month we had in 2025!

We look forward to celebrating with you next year – with a full slate of programs like the ones below.

From the history of the Shawnee people, to Charles Young teaching at Wilberforce University, to the Wright Brothers’ first experiments in flight, and even to the construction of the house you live in, celebrate our shared rich history in April for Greene County History Month!

Working together to bring greater awareness and appreciation for the history that surrounds us, this month-long celebration features informative presentations, interactive programming, and access to the archives and artifacts of the many great organizations committed to preserving local history.
