This fall, you voted for the next Big Read. The results are in, and this year’s winner is The Underdogs: Children, Dogs, and the Power of Unconditional Love by Melissa Fay Greene.
About the Book
Written about Greene County’s own 4 Paws for Ability, The Underdogs tells the story of Karen Shirk, a woman told she was “too disabled” to be given a service dog. Despite being ventilator-dependent and immobile, she decided to raise and train her own therapy dog. Two decades later, 4 Paws for Ability is the largest organization whose primary mission is to place service dogs with children.
What Happens Next?
