Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Returns to the Library

UPDATED 3/17: All Greene County Public Library locations are closed until April 6, 2020, as part of our commitment to protect public health. Once the library reopens, VITA program coordinators and the IRS will decide whether tax assistance services can resume in any form. No decision has been made at this time.

Every year, Greene County Public Library partners with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to provide free tax filing help to area residents.

VITA offers tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited-English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

In 2020, our Xenia, Beavercreek, and Fairborn libraries will be VITA sites.
