Kathy Moulton was born in Detroit but has been living in Yellow Springs since 1972. Art has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember, starting by coloring and drawing pictures from story books like Lady and the Tramp and dreaming of a career with Walt Disney. In high school she began to experiment with needle and thread, and canvas painting and weaving came later.

She’s also always been creating children’s stories, usually using realistic animals but also pets, people, places, and things she sees and imagines. All of her designs are hand-drawn and then painted on computer. Humor is a big part of her work, with playful language and parody often playing a role.
