Welcome to Week 1 of the Online Book Club!

I’m glad you found us here this month as we discuss JoJo Moyes’ book, Me Before You! In case you’ve never joined us before, I’ll explain a little bit about the Online Book Club. Each month, we discuss a book, and each week of the month, I write a new blog post that talks about different aspects of the book. You can comment on the blog posts and let me and others know what you think. If you want to contribute to the discussion but aren’t interested in reading along with us, you can always watch the movie version of the book and still comment on the blog posts! The book and movie are available at your local library, and the book is available on our digital book service, OverDrive.

Like I mentioned in the first paragraph, we’re reading Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. At the beginning of the book, Louisa Clark loses her job at a small bakery and is forced to find another job. Since she is untrained and has little job experience, she is forced to take a job as a caretaker for a man, Will, who is a quadriplegic. The pair get off to a rocky start, but they soon learn to get along, and this relationship promises to change both Louisa and Will.

If you’re on the fence about reading or watching along with us this month, check out the movie trailer.

So, what do you think? Do you think you’ll be able to follow along with us this month? Check back Monday, November 14th to see our discussion about the first seven chapters.

This is certainly not a book I would pick on my own, but I am up to the challenge.
I am sure I will feel different emotions throughout. I better keep a box of tissues close!

Tissues are a good idea! I hope you enjoy Jojo Moyes. I think she is a great writer and would recommend some of her other books!!

  2. Amberlynn

Amberlynn, it’s good to hear from you! You’re right–Jojo Moyes’s writing moves so quickly and is so easy to read.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the book so far–I’m glad we were able to help you find a different read!

I hope to hear from you again!

This isn’t a book that I would normally read. However, once I started reading it, I haven’t been able to put it down.

  4. Raven

I am very disappointed in the movie… perhaps the book is better??
