In the mood to learn a new skill? Greene County Public Library is offering classes in the basics of everything from sewing to starting a business to American Sign Language. Join us for one or more of these upcoming programs—stick with them, and you’ll be an expert in no time!

Sewing 101: Mending

Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. • Adults • Yellow Springs

Come learn hand-stitching to mend your clothing, repair missing buttons, and sew popped seams with Jesy Anderson of Needle, Ink and Thread. We will even have some sewing machines available for you to try out and learn very basic sewing. Being able to perform basic mending will save you time and money. If there is the time, we will cover basic hemming as well!

Composting 101

Wednesday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m. • Adults • Bellbrook

David Weickert from Compost Dayton will discuss the benefits of composting and how to compost.

Solving Common Dog Problems

Canine behavior specialist Janee Moore and her 4-legged friends, will talk about common dog problems such as barking, jumping, leash manners, and social skills, and how to correct them.

Signing 101

Monday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. • All Ages • Bellbrook

Have you ever wanted to learn American Sign Language? Join us in celebration of Deaf History month by learning some basic signs. Tina Meyer, who has an AAS degree in Sign Language Interpreting, will teach introductory and courtesy signing phrases.

Basic CAD for Tweens and Teens

Thursday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. • Kids & Teens • Beavercreek

Learn to use Tinkercad to create 3D objects using computer aided design techniques. Each participant will complete a CAD tutorial, create a 3D keychain file, and receive a coupon to print the keychain at a later date at Spark Place at Xenia Community Library. (3D printing will not take place during this class.) For ages 10–18.

Are you a first time voter or new to the process? Come learn the essentials such as navigating the Board of Elections website, finding sample ballots, and getting registered. We will provide registration forms for eligible voters.
