You must come to the library to be issued a full-service library card.

However, for immediate access to our research databases and to request up to two items, Ohio residents can create a library account and register as a temporary online patron.

  • On your first library visit, bring with you something that can verify your address: e.g. photo I.D.
  • Your library card enables you to borrow materials from any Greene County Public Library location.
  • Library cards must be renewed annually.
  • There is no cost for Ohio residents to get their first library card.

Non-residents of Ohio can apply for a library card*. There is a $25.00 annual fee and a photo ID will be required to process your request.

Please submit the non-resident library card application below or visit one of our locations to register in person. If you’re a resident of Ohio, please complete the Ohio resident application form.

*Not all digital collections and research resources are available to non-residents of Ohio, such as OverDrive.
